Bluetooth Com Port Problems with Linkmatik 2

Hi

I was wondering if you could help me. I have recently purchased a Linkmatik 2 Bluetooth module and have looked at the data sheet for it, but it doesn't give any clear diagrams as to how to hardwire it to replace an RS232 connection. Do I need to use an Max232 converter? I only want to connect it to an 8051 microcontroller, this will be used as a UART and will be connected to another 8051. Can you help me with this?

Many Thanks

Hey alrightyb,
Is this the same data sheet that you have? From what I can see, you should be able to connect the RX and TX line of the linkmatik device to the TX and RX lines of your 8051. You may have some grounding and noise issue, but this should be the bare necessities. On the data sheet mentioned previously, page 3 goes over what the baud rates are and other serial specifications. You may need external hardware if the interfaces, ie power levels, are different for both devices.

Hopefully this helps
