Anyone have any luck installing the PCI-8212 in a Dell PC w/ NT 4.0 and the new PCI 66MHz/64 bit bus?

NI-488.2 ver 1.7 won't reconginize the card. I got the card to work in an older PC with the original PCI bus. NI's answer was to use a different OS like Win 98. The application I'm using requires NT 4.0. Any suggestions? I followed the installation procedures exactly on a fresh install of NT brought up to SP6 and IE5.5.

Matt,

Are you getting a specific error message? Did the ethernet work?

Ethernet worked fine.

No error message. When I went to activate it in the GPIB control panel the serial number field remained grayed out.

I gave up and bought Win2K. I'm not sure my application supports Win2K yet, so I may still need to fall back to NT 4.0.

BTW, the machine is a Dell PowerEdge 1550 1U Server. PIII 866, 512MB RAM, 3 x 18GB configured as RAID 5.

Matt,

Do you have another computer that you can try the PCI-8212 in? That
should tell you whether or not is is a problem with the card.

Yes the card works fine in the same machine with Win2K and worked fine in a different machine with NT Server 4.0 SP 4. The other machine has the original 5 Volt 32 bit 33MHz PCI Bus which is the main difference I figure.
