I have a profibus network and i want to have the sensorsignals in LabView 7.1.

How can i connect a profibus network with Labview 7.1.?

I have two running applications which access hardware devices using profibus.
In LabVIEW I use the datasocket functions (open,read,write,close). I connect them to an opc-adress.

I used a Siemens CP-5613 profibus card and the Siemens OPC-server.

Up to now it works without any problems.

I need information about the topic that you mentioned. The purpose is develop a data acquisition system in LabVIEW and collect data from profibus network. I have CP5611 profibus card and SIMATIC NET. I saw in SIMATIC NET ----> softnet profibus ----> OPC scout, but I don't know how to configure CP5611 and OPC sever. If you have some information about this contact me.

Did you create the profibus network using SIMATIC NCM?

I'm a beginner in this topic and I only have some information about a general concept of the system. The purpose is collec data from a CNC Siemens 810D by profibus network. At this moment I know that is necessary an OPC server to communicate with LV. I have the SIMATIC NET software V6.2 but I need something like a tutorial to configure CP5611, OPC server and profibus network. Hm - so it's quiet hard to explain you the procedure. I didn't use a manual or tutorial to configure the system - I just tried it (but it was not that easy).

I'm going to look for something that may help you.

Hope I can give you some notes or something similar as soon as possible.

Attached you find a documentation from Siemens. Have a look at chapter 7. This is the first thing I usually do. As a result I finally get a *.xdb-file. I import this file in the Station Configuration Editor (chapter 2.1.1).

Hope this helps you to get it running. If you can read the values with OPC-Scout or if you have problems, write again.
