Devicenet PXI8532 read slave input shift register

Solved!
Go to solution

I am porting over tests from an older test system to a new one. Old system used PXI-8461 and the old device net drivers. I have tried substituting the new industrial communication drivers in their place with only some success. I can read the slave device information such as type MFG. Etc. It appears that I can send explicit messages as I get replies without errors. When I attempt a IO read I no longer communicate. The wait times out. I have tried several of the examples to do this. same issue. The MAC ID for the slave device is 2. I think the default for the 8532 is 63? When I set the MAC ID in the slave VI to 2 it returns a message that this is a duplicate ID.If I use MAC ID 63, 0 or another ID it times out. What am I missing?

Thanks

Rick

I have it working! The EDS for the device stated input should be 1. I found that it works with input set to 7. I was using the single input example to communicate. Now working!
