Using NI-5641R with both FPGA and the instrument driver

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I've "inherited" a NI PXI-5641R with a FPGA code acquiring spectrum and performing FFT on both inputs.

However, it has another two outputs I would like to use for simple DC biasing.

Would it be possible to use the instrument driver to apply DC voltage on one of the outputs while the FPGA for the inputs is running simultaneously?

Thanks,

Ran

Hi Ran,

I do not believe what you have describe is possible for two reasons.

  1. You cannot run the instrument driver bitfile at the same time as a user defined FPGA bit file
  2. The AO ports are AC coupled so you will not be able to generate a DC bias on them.
