High-Speed Digitizers

I connected my generators output to my digitizers input.
Now I play around with generators property Repeat Count and digitizers Number of Records
What I try to achieve is e.g: (1 generation & 1 acquisition) 5 times consecutive in order to average the aquisitions.
Trigger setup:
Software trigger -> Ni-Fgen start
Ni-Fgen started signal -> Ni-Scope aquisition
Will the Ni-Fgen generate 5 started signals if I set generators Repeat Count to 5?
Do I need 5 software triggers if I set digitizers Number of Records to 5?
