LabVIEW Core 1 & 2 September 13-17 in Hampton

I just found out about a LabVIEW training course that mistakenly didn’t get put up online until just recently. It’s only a month away, so now is the time to get started, especially if your registration needs to go through any approvals. Please email me at luke.hargrove@ni.com if you have questions. Here’s the info:

Where is the training?

When will it be held?

September 13 -17. LabVIEW Core 1 will be Monday thru Wednesday, and LabVIEW Core 2 will be Thursday thru Friday. The classes take the full workday on each of those days (approximately 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM)

What will be taught in the courses?

LabVIEW Core training is part of NI's formal LabVIEW learning path. LabVIEW Core 1 and Core 2 are the first two courses in the learning path. They assume no prior knowledge of LabVIEW and are designed build a solid foundation in LabVIEW fundamentals over 1 week of training. The full LabVIEW learning path is shown in the image below. All courses are taught by National Instruments Certified Professional Instructors. You can find more information at http://www.ni.com/training/labview_courses.htm

Who will be taking the courses?

I recommend the courses for anyone who's touched LabVIEW in any form or fashion or who anticipates working with it at some point. I used to teach the courses frequently myself and would often encounter students who would take the LabVIEW courses after using it for a number of years. They were often surprised by how much they learned by going through formal training because it allowed them to fill in a number of gaps in their understanding of the software and to build a solid fundamental understanding of it.

How much does the training cost?

There are several ways you can pay for these courses

h5.

1. Buy the NI Training and Certification Membership Program ($3,999 per person - 6 month, $5,999 per person - 1 year, $7,999 per person - 2 year)

This allows you unlimited access to NI training courses in person, online, and self paced for a fixed period of time (either 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years from the date of purchase). It also allows you to take NI certification exams at no charge for the duration of the membership. See http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/202567 for more info.

2. Enroll and pay for a particular class (LabVIEW Core 1 is $1,799 and LabVIEW Core 2 is $1,199. - $2,998 for the week)

See http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/nisv.custed?p_locale=en-US&p_loc=VA&p_class1=40220&p_class2=&p_language=US&p_continue.x=31&p_continue.y=7&map=&loc=US for more info.

3. Purchase training credits only ($299/training credit, $2,990 for the week)

NI Training Credits are designed for individuals and companies that want to purchase training for multiple employees or team members but need the flexibility to decide who participates in the training and when. Large projects, volume license agreements, and end-of-year budget spending are ideal scenarios for purchasing these credits. You can use NI Training Credits to purchase regional, online, and on-site training courses as well as NI Training and Certification memberships, self-paced training materials, and certification exams. 1 training credit is equal to a half day of training. LabVIEW Core 1 and Core 2 would cost 10 training credits. See http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/203585 for more info.

h5.

4. Purchase training credits as part of a software purchase (10% discount on each training credit)

When buying a new Developer's Suite software license, you can bundle 10 training credits as part of the purchase. This will include a 10% discount on the credits. See http://www.ni.com/devsuite for more info.
