Energy saving monitoring system for library in Shanghai Jiao Tong University

University: Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Team Members: Feiyun Cong, Xuning Zhou, Tao Liu

Faculty Advisors: Prof. Jin Chen

Project Overview:

The energy consumption of library is 5 to 10 times as common residence. By using the WSN technology proposed by NI, the environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, CO2 is obtained as an air conditioning reference. The temperature field of the reading room is estimated by the system to obtain the distribution of the large space temperature. The air condition will be set according to the temperature field and some other parameters such as humidity and CO2.  The energy saving target can be got by adopting the tactics that using the minimum energy consumption to get the air condition control target.

Hardware used : NI WSN-9791、NI WSN-9792、NI WSN-3202、NI WSN-3212

Software used: LabVIEW2010、LabVIEW Real-Time Module、LabVIEW FPGA Module 、Internet Toolkit、Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft、RIO-Mesh

Conclusion:

The system realizes the environmental parameters monitoring and analyzing function. By the use of WSN platform and Labview, some advantages can be got:

1) The WSN platform can reduce the project construction difficulty.

2) The Labview developing platform will reduce the development cycle of the project.

3) The use of RT promote the reliability of the system.

Hello there,

Thank you so much for your project submission into the NI LabVIEW Student Design Competition. It's great to see your enthusiasm for NI LabVIEW! Make sure you share your project URL(https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-16486) with your peers and faculty so you can collect votes for your project and win. Collecting the most "likes" gives you the opportunity to win cash prizes for your project submission. If you or your friends have any questions about how to go about "voting" for your project, tell them to read this brief document (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-16409). You have until July 15, 2011 to collect votes!

I'm curious to know, what's your favorite part about using LabVIEW and how did you hear about the competition? Great work!!

Good Luck, Liz in Austin, TX.
