Good morning,
my name is Giacomo Latrofa. I'm using NI cRIO-9014 data acquisition and I've some questions about it.
I explain you my problem. I've mount the cRIO on a race car in order to record signals of sensors mounted on the car. In this situation I can't connect the cRIO to the pc. So I need the cRIO start recording when I power it.
Moreover I need cRIO save signals in real-time on a USB drive connected to it. I don't know if it's possible or not and if it's possible I don't know how to realize it.
So I ask you to help me.
Best regards
Giacomo Latrofa

Dear Giacomo,
you can save data on your 9014 both on the local storage drive (the hard-drive in the cRIO), both on external usb storage units (like a usb pen drive); see this and this for more information.
If you need an example in labview you can find one in this thread.
I hope this helps.
Best Regards
Lucius

Dear Lucius, thank you for the informations, they are very useful.
What's about the recording on the cRIO when I power it without an external start? Is it possible.
Best regards
Giacomo

Dear Giacomo,
sure you can do it!
Just create your labview application which stores data un the usb pen or on the local storage and then deploy the application such as it is started every time you boot the controller.

Lucius

Good morning,
I'm adding in this discussion because I have a similar doubt. I'm working at University of Bologna in which we have a cDAQ 9178. Does the cDAQ can start to record signal when it is powered on?
