Hi, I have an NI 9411 module and flexlogger 2021 R4. I have wired up the module and can count pulses, but need to see the frequency (0-100Hz). Is this possible without using a plug-in? Seems like a pretty fundamental task. What an I missing?

Hello,
To visualize the frequency, select the Screen tab, drop a Frequency Spectrum graph, and select your channel.
Unfortunately, the frequency is not logged to the TDMS file, but you can compute the FFT of the channel from the TDMS Viewer:
Hope this helps!

Can you suggest a card that will directly measure/record frequency using flexlogger? Just a 0-100Hz pulse frequency.

I have not used one before, but the NI-9326 is listed as a frequency input card, it may do what you are looking for.

The NI-9326 is specifically designed for frequency counting, but it has extra features such as isolated 150 Vrms inputs and Butterworth filtering which you may not need for your application. If you just need standard a counter with standard TTL digital signals, you could use a NI 9361 which is a less expensive option. You can try simulating one in NI MAX or the NI Hardware Configuration Utility to see whether it will suit your needs:
