generator power source with Fieldpoint

We are running a 15kW power source for a submersible pump and intending to pull 110 VAC for the Fieldpoint unit and computer.  Any experience out there that would recommend certain precautions to protect against power surges?  Do we need isolation and/or surge protection?

Can you give me some more information about your system setup? Which FieldPoint module are you intending to pull 110VAC from?
