Following my mails, I changed the COM Port3 to COM Port1. 

In MAX, I noticed serial and parrllel under device and interface.

I connect RS232 port to USB device then to laptop. I am unable to see USB under device and interface in MAX.

but in MAX under Device and Interface >> under FP@COM1 If i click Find Device, i received this command as

"The connection to the remote device timed out"

If i click COM1 under serial and parallel in MAX and click open VISA test panel, i received the following command as

Device status: This device is working properly

Device type : serial port

I received error command as 

ASRLL:: INSTR

VISA: (Hex OxBFF0072) THE RESOURCE IS VALID, But VISA cannot currently access it.

I would kindly request you to help me to proceed.

I am here with reporting Field point hardware deatils in windows 95 version and LabVIEW 5.1,

FiledPoint 1.6, Field Point Explorer version 1.6, GPIB software 1.30, Measurement and Automation Explorer 1.0.1, NI-DAQ 6.5.

When the Field point Hardware is powered on, I noticed The LED status as

Power LED is steady green

Ready LED is steady green

So mechanical connection were good, no bent pins and power recquirement to network module is sufficient.

I double click Test002.iak- FieldPoint Explorer 

I found FiledPoint under IA server with OPC

I found FP Res under FiledPoint

I found FP-1000@0 

           FP-1000@01

           FP-1000@2          under FP Res

I found All

          Channel 0

          Channel 1

            to

          Channel 7     under    FP-1000@01

If i select ALL, Channel 0 to Channel 7 under FP-1000@01 and run and then i noticed Network LED Status as

Power LED is steady green colour

Network LED is Flashed with yellow colour

Access LED is  steady yellow

Status LED is off

If the Network LED is Flashed with yellow colour means

FP-1000 I/O module communicate with host computer via RD-232 port. I am kindly ask it is successive response or error response?

I also monitor I/O Channels values (Voltage values) while run

When i run Labview software 5.1, I recieve the commands as connection to acquisition board was not found.

So i would kindly request you to please help me to procedd my probelm.

Something jumped out at me from your equipment comment about USB. Windows did not support USB until Win98SE, and then I think it was only USB 1.

Don't know if this helps any, I hope so.
