Send messages from a host to a VI on FieldPoint

Hello,

I'm looking for a neet way to send messages to a VI running on a cFP-2000 module.

I would like to have a VI looping on the cFP module and checking for messages in a message queue or in a 'mailbox'. The messages would be sent from any host that could connect to the cFP, preferably with Logos.

I don't think it is possible to use message queues from a host to FieldPoint. I tried to use some controls in my VI but the 'handshaking' between the host and the cFP is not so obvious.

Is there an easy and elegant way to do this?

Using the TCP functions in LV is easy. Here is an example for a protocol.

The RT communication wizard (in the Tools menu) is also an option and the new shared variable (in LV 8).

Just make sure you don't do anything problematic memory wise (array operations and such).
