Hi,
I have an alicat mass flow controller (MCR). I need to wire for both input and output signal. I have an FI-AI-110 to read in 0-5 V signal and an FI-AO-200 to sent out 4-20mA signal. The alicat 8 Pin mini-DIN-Out is such that pin (4) is analog input signal -4-20mA pin(6) is 0-5Vdc pin (7) is Power in pin (8) is ground. On the FP-AI-110, I wire pin (6) to slot (1), pin (7) to slot (17) and pin(8) to slot (18). I can read the flow reading fine in labview. I then connect pin (4) of the alicat to slot (1) of the FP-AO-200. I cannot sent a signal to the Alicat controller. I think I need to connect both pin (7) and pin (8) of the alicat to the fieldpoint, but though that they should already be connected?

I'm pretty sure you need to connect some power source to the V terminal of the module in order to complete the analog output loop.

Correction,
On my alicat 8 pin mini din I have the following:
Pin #
(1) 4-20mA primary output signal
(4) analog input signal (4-20mA)
(7) Power in
(8) ground (common for power, communications and analog signals)
These are the connections I was thinking of making using the FP-AI-110 and FP-AO-200. Please see if I am missing anything before i wire it up.
Alicad pin 1 to FP-AI-110 I (in)
pin 8 to FP-AI-110 com
pin 4 to FP-AO-200 I (out)
pin 7 to FP-AO-200 V (sup)
given that no external power is applied to the unit.
