Communicating with cFP-2120 after IP change

Good Morning,
I am using a cFP-2120 with LabVIEW 8.5, Real-time and PDA module. My question is about how I may communicate with the shared variables on my cFP after changing the IP address. I have a project in which the cFP is a SV server, communcating to a PDA through a wireless bridge, over a local network.
If I reset the IP address on my cFP and update the IAK file the 2120 works as it is supposed to. However, while the PDA is able to connect over the network, none of the shared variables can be accessed. In order for the PDA program to access the cFP shared variables, I have to open up my project and re-build the application with the newly-assigned cFP-2120 IP address in the project.
Is it possible to change these settings through MAX, or by editing the program somehow?

Just changing the aliases file on the PDA to match the new cFP-2120 IP address does not allow SV communication. So, what is changing on the PDA with a new build/deployment, that I was unable to access another way?

Thanks,
Mellobuck

Is the wireless bridge acting as a switch?  What kind of IP addresses and subnet masks are you using?  What are you changing the IP address of the cFP-2120 to?

the wireless bridge is acting as an access point. I am changing between IP addresses of 192.168.1.205 - > 192.168.1.215 (same subnet), so subnet mask of 225.225.225.0

The PDA also has the same subnet for its IP: 192.168.1.207

I didn't mention that the system is running 'headless', no attached PC.

thanks,

Mello

This may be a typo.  But is the subnet mask truly 225.225.225.0 or is it 255.255.255.0 like I would expect?

Ravensfan,
Yes, that was a typo. I let it auto-complete to 255.255.255.0

Some more questions:

Has this only occurred with FieldPoint as the host (PDA cannot host, so a PC host for example)?

Have you provided a name for the FieldPoint host, or is it auto-generating a name based on the IP?  What does your alias file look like?  Did this work with LabVIEW 8.2, or have you only tried this with 8.5?
