Can I use the 60mV range to measure small voltages across the built-in 100 R shunt resistor?

I need to measure small currents: 0-100uA +/- 0.1uA.  It seems I could use the built-in 100 R shunt resistor and measure the voltage accross it with the +/- 60mV scale if I simply connect the voltage and current input terminals together.  Is there any problem with this idea?

I am using an external resistor now, but am guessing the internal one is more accurate.

Dear Anton:

How are you doing? I am not sure which module you are using. I am assuming it is NI cFP-AI-100. Yes, you should be able to attain micro amp measurement by setting the software configurable mv range (60 mv). Please keep in mind the typical offset error is also in the range of micro amperes. Please review the documents in the links below -

Please let me know if this helps.
