CVS and FP1000

Hi all,

I have the following systems:

• FP1000 with a digital input/output module
• CVS1454
• VBAI 2.6.1 and NI Vision Acquisition Software ver.8

I would like to do a stand alone system; that is, using CVS 1454 to perform as a main CPU in order to control Digital Input/Output of a FP1000 by using a serial communication. However, the question is how can we program on FP1000 in order to perform this application. Notice that I know how to program on VBAI in order to send a serial command or wait for a serial command on CVS but I don't know how to do this on FP1000 (I know only FP1000 and PC).

Therefore, could anyone advise me how to do this application ?

Hi Pravee,

Communicating with an FP-1000 from a RT controller requires using Optomux commands.  Take a look at the following KnowledgeBase article:

How Can I Talk to an FP-1000 Using an FP-20xx?

The article references the FP-20xx as the controller, but it should work the same for the CVS-1454.  I hope this helps!
