Spammers are a moving target and require a constant adjustment of the strategies. Compared to what we had long ago, the current spam defenses seem stellar and things disappear very quickly on average.

But yes, there are probably always other strategies that could be implemented and I am sure Lithium is working on them. Suggestions on rate limits have come up in the past.

As we all know, spammers are dumb and it is their loss of time and resources if they continue to post here with little benefit. Similarly, spammers posting links for SEO purposes should be aware that e.g. Google gives negative search ranking weights to any links posted in public forums so they are doing more harm than good for themselves. 😄

It is very difficult to understand what they get out of all this. Their business model seems flawed, but that brings us back to the "dumb" part mentioned above. 😄
