Any way i can recieve/ reply form my Mail ID to Discussion forum posts?

Hi All,
Is there a possibility  that i can read queries posted on forums, reply to them using an external E mail ID like yahoo etc??
Or should i always log into Discussion forums?

devchander -

The only way to post a reply to the forums (as they work today) is by actually logging in.  The functionality to post via email is not available.  This is a feature I have seen in other communities, but I'm not sure if or when it would be available here.

What do others think about this idea?

I don't think this is necessary.

Some forums are mirrored to newsgroups, so you could use a newsreader if you don't want to use the web interface (For example, the LabVIEW forum also exists as comp.lang.labview on e.g. newsgroups.ni.com.)

(There is also still info-LabVIEW for a plain mailing list). 😉

There are some old threads that I have responded to hoping that the original posters would get my reply.  I'm assuming they aren't getting them because I don't ever see a reply like I have gotten in the new threads.  I would like to see the ability to somehow alert them that I posted a follow-up to one of their old posts and would like them to see it.  Wouldn't that be a practical functionality to add in?  If the original poster does not have the option selected to receive replies to a thread, how can I possibly communicate with them about the topic of that particular thread?  One possible solution might be to add the function as on LAVA where you can communicate with any user through a link on the user info page.  There really should be SOME way of contacting/alerting any particular user without dropping an off-topic message into a completely different thread where you can see that particular user is presently active.

Thanks,

Brad
