NI Fieldbus monitor limited to 64000

Dear,

Our monitor file from the fieldbus monitor contains more then 5 million lines (1 night) but we can only see 64000(10 minutes) when we open it.

How can we go through all the lines? We need the complete file for troubleshooting.

Hi,

I am sorry that this is a known scrolling problem in current version of NI-FBUS Monitor.

When the number of captured lines is greater than 65536 (64K), the drag behavior of the vertical scrollbar will become abnormal. This bug comes from Windows API. A popup dialog will appear to inform this error when you perform scollbar's drag operation on file with more than 64k lines.

The 64K limitation just affects the drag behavior of scrollbar. The content of the file is not affected. All 5 million lines are recorded into the file. To view the complete file, you can keep clicking the empty area of vertical scrollbar. Please DO NOT drag it.

We do realize that this workaround is not convenient for extremely large files. The problem will be fixed in next version of NI-FBUS Monitor.

Sorry to say but this is absolutely not convenient. We have to record files over more than one day. It is simply not possible to use the method of "clicking in the empty area of vertical scrollbar..." you would need hours to reach the location at which you assume a communication problem.

Could you please specifiy with which version you'll fix this bug and when you will release this version?

I am really sorry for the inconvenience! We will fix this bug in the next version of Monitor software. The new version is still in development phase and the actual release date has not been fixed yet.I will inform you immediately if there is any update.
