Linking devices residents in distinct segment via HSE

I would like to make a FBAP link between a H1 device under Linking Device and HSE device with FBUS Configurator.

But, FBUS Configurator seems to disturb such linking.

Now, a Linking Device and a HSE device are working on HSE.

FBUS Configurator shows those two links, and FBAP and Schedule are shown in each links.

Trying to drag&drop the HSE device's FunctionBlock into LinkingDevice's FBAP editor, it disturbs such behaviour.

Can't I make such linking ?

No you can't.

As you see these are listed in two separate links, you cannot drag & drop the devices across two links.

Thank you Chris.

I've read the FF spec again and I've not understood deeply, but I could imagine that H1 device may not be

transparent from HSE device.

Because, the difference of LinkObject mechanism between H1 and HSE seems not to be able to link HSE

and H1 device.

Assuming it is true, nobody can understad why H1 to resident in HSE via LinkingDevice.

Or, only the NI-FBUS Configurator is not capable for such use-case ?

Hi,

As you know that FF has two set of protocols, H1 and HSE.

The Link Device is used to pass data, and enable to remote monitor and control the field device through a cable.

But it doesn't mean you could realize some control logic (or schedule) across H1 segments.

Hope this will help you understand.

BTW, what kind of HSE device do you get?

Thanks.

Thank you Chris.

As for the HSE device which I'm talking, I am developing a new HSE device.

I imagine that there are no HSE device in the world now, isn't it ? If you know any HSE device,

the information is very helpfull for me. Please tell me.

And, I understood the LinkingDevice perspective. - Thank you.

So far as I know, there are no other HSE device yet.

And it is good to know your are developming a new HSE device.

Is it possible to give me some introduction regarding your new device when it is released?

Appreciate that.
