Labview for 2020 FRC season

Solved!
Go to solution

We are getting ready to update our team laptops and students laptops and I am trying to find what version of lab view to download for use in the 2020 season. Will it be Labview 2019 with an added package for 2020 FRC specific things or will there be a 2020 version of labview rolled out closer to kickoff. Just trying to not download software if we will be changing it at kickoff.

Thanks,

You cannot currently setup your PCs for the 2020 season.  I'll answer your question in two ways.

First, if you're looking to practice with programming a robot leading up to the season, you'll want to download the FRC 2019 software and the FRC 2019 Update Suite (Game Tools).  If you install those, you can program a robot today but this won't be useful in the 2020 season as you'll need to update the software stack.  You can find all of last year's software by going to www.ni.com/frc and finding the download software links.

If you're looking to get some PCs started leading up to the season, you can install the FRC 2020 software (Do not go straight to LabVIEW when installing for FRC).  That's already on the web.  https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/drivers/download.labview-software-for-frc.html  This is where the FRC software lives for LabVIEW itself.  You can install this to get ready for the FRC Game Tools to be released closer to kickoff.
