New Icon Editor in old LabVIEW?

Simple question.

Can we somehow intercept the call to the old icon editor and call the new one instead in older versoins of LabVIEW?

We have a version packaged for easy installation to all LabVIEW versions using VI Package Manager thanks to Philippe.

It would be nice.

Ed,

basically there is the possibility to save the IE source for a previous version, BUT there are gonna be a couple of problems, because the new IE relies on some features in LabVIEW 2009.

Short answer: The new IE wouldn't be executable in older versions of LabVIEW without some modifications to the code.

So if we could figure how to make it run in LabVIEW 8.x, it could be used in place of the old IE?

If yes, how?

I guess only somebody from NI could do it, because you would need the password for some IE VIs to modify them.

The IE wouldn't have the ability though, to save the icon information with the caller like it is the case in LV 2009.
