Hi Thomas, I've just tried from LabVIEW 2009 (& on a different computer) and it's not working there either. Here's the result of the GET HTTP vi on LabVIEW 2009:
and the raw TCP string sent is:
"GET swf/iconlib/icons_filtered.xml HTTP/1.0
"
In contrast, the URL Get HTTP Document.vi of the Internet Toolkit creates a TCP string of:
"GET /swf/iconlib/icons_filtered.xml HTTP/1.0
Host: www.ni.com:80
"
and in fact, changing GET HTTP.vi's code to this makes it work:

Thanks for posting that fix. I've had the error 42 message since day 1 of installing LabVIEW 2009, and I had passed it off as something quirky about the way IS has my work computer configured. I can confirm that editing GET HTTP.vi as shown fixed the error on my computer (currently running LabVIEW 2009 SP1).
