you should consider using the optional accessories, http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/203802
you might consider any soldering to the BNC cable at the end

Hello Peabody124,
Thanks for contacting National Instruments.
You can view the front connector diagram for your DSA device by looking in the DAQmx Device Terminals Help File. This can be found by opening DAQmx Help from your start menu. This will be under the path Start -> Programs-> National Instruments -> NI-DAQ -> NI-DAQmx Help. The category DAQ Devices under the DAQmx Device Terminals Help will list all of the devices that the DAQmx driver supports. The 4498 will be listed in this category.
It is recommended that you use a cable, such as an Infiniband to BNC cable assembly to prevent any damage to the device that could be cause from soldering errors. Page A-24 of the NI Dynamic Signal Acquisition User Manual shows the polarity of the BNC connectors for the 4498. This will eliminate the need to solder directly to your device which could eliminate the need for costly repairs in case a malfunction occurs.
Please post back if you have any questions or concerns.

The National Instruments SHB4X-B4X is the InfiniBand connector shell for NI 449x cables and accessories. These include the SHB4X-B4X shielded InfiniBand to InfiniBand cable, the SHB4X-8BNC shielded InfiniBand to BNC cable, and the NI BNC-2144 signal connector accessory. The 4X InfiniBand is widely used in high-performance computing applications because it provides excellent signal integrity with a shield plate between signal connection pairs, reducing crosstalk between inputs.
Rack-Mount BNC
The NI BNC-2144 signal connector accessory for NI 449x devices has 32 BNC jack inputs on the front and four 4X InfiniBand connectors on the rear for use with up to two NI 449x devices. You can mount it on a standard 19 in. rack for simple, direct connections to accelerometers and microphones.
Direct to BNC Connectivity
The NI SHB4X-8BNC shielded InfiniBand to BNC cable offers direct connectivity to NI 449x devices. Available in a two pack, each cable has a 4X InfiniBand connector on one end and eight BNC jack inputs on the other end. Individual BNCs are labeled for easy channel connectivity.
NI 449x Devices
NI 449x DSA devices offer 16 simultaneous 24-bit analog inputs per device and IEPE signal conditioning for precision measurements with microphones and accelerometers in high-channel-count systems, such as noise localization and structural vibration. NI 449x DSA devices use two 4X InfiniBand connectors, with each connector carrying eight analog input channels, AI0-7 and AI8-15.
