Control-Clicking to Open the Block Diagram of a SubVI

Control-Clicking to Open the Block Diagram of a SubVI

While this will only save a few seconds here and there, it will definitely add up in the long-run. If we want to see the block diagram of a subVI instead of the front panel, all we have to do is hold control while we double click on the icon of the subVI on the MAIN VI's block diagram.

Steps to Complete

As I said above, all that you have to do is hold down control on your keyboard. Then double click on any subVI on your main VI's block diagram. This will then open up the block diagram for you, so that you don't have to open it manually from the subVI's front panel.

You can also check out the video on my blog to see how its done.

Additional Notes

Even though you are wanting to open only the block diagram, all block diagrams have a front panel associated with them, so we will have to close the front panel as well as the block diagram of the subVI to close it out completely.
