calibration interval

Hi,
Is the NI recommended calibration inteval based on product in use for 1 yr???
I have a PCI-4060 beng in the shelf from 1yr with packing. By the time it was out and I have started using, it is due for Calibration.
Should I have to calibrate the product although I haven't used it or will this give me any extra time for calibration
Thanks

Hi Mama,

The calibration interval is based on time between hardware calibrations, so if you require the 4060 to be guaranteed within the accuracy specifications defined here:

you will need to apply the hardware configuration, even if the card hasn't been in use. As you will see, the specifications give figures for absolute accuracy at different time intervals after calibration, regardless of whether the device has been used or not.

I hope this helps answer your question.

Best wishes,
