Synchronized measurement

Hi,  I am stucked with one problem. I need to synchronize two Agilent 34465A digital multimeters. I'm already trying to do this for a while time, but without success. The Multimeters has an Ext trigger that I would like to use. I need to get the devices into the wait for trigger mode, and then send a signal with the ext trigger to start measuring the values (synchonized).

How do you connect these intruments to your PC?

(USB, Lan,GPIB?)

I didn't dive into the manuals (RTFM is your homework 😉 ) however how about calling a Keysight application engineer and ask if you can send one common trigger by the LAN ?

One crude way could be to (ab)use a RS232 (if present or by a USB adaptor) control line to send a trigger..  but often you have also some sort of a signal exiter source ...  or another sensor like mic/accelerometer/ contact ... ???

What are your timing requirements?
