New PC, new error. 1074118656 with PCI 4065 and PCI 5114

Hello,

Running LV8.6 and TS4.0 on multiple test systems (development and deployed), but have just encountered a new problem with the latest test platform.

Previously (following the same installation recipe) I ended up with the PCI-4065 and PCI-5114 being found in MAX as DAQmx with names of "Dev1" and "Dev2".  *Windows XP

The new platform is Windows 7, and while everything seems to install properly (or easier even) MAX shows the PCI cards being PXI devices.  While MAX claims they're working fine, the soft front panels do not see any installed devices, nor can our released tests communicate with the devices.  Both the front panels and our code will pop up the error 1074118656.  I'm not sure how to convince MAX that the PCI devices are really PCI devices in the PC.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

It may be that the driver that you installed with the devices was written before Windows 7 was released.  Try upgrading the drivers NI-DAQmx, NI-DMM, and NI-SCOPE to the most recent versions.  I am attaching links to the location where you can download these drivers.

NI-DAQmx: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2260/lang/en

NI-DMM:     http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1622/lang/en

NI-SCOPE: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2280/lang/en

Regards,

Thanks!  That did the trick.  The devices look as expected in MAX and I can open the SFP for each now.

For further clarifcation, during a side-by-side with the XP machine I saw that *both* had the PCI cards shown in the PXI (unknown chassis), just that the Win7 (with pre Win7 drivers) did not create the DAQmx entries.
