The LabVIEW <-> GPIB.vi example is a great place to get started. It will allow you to send and receive messages from an attached GPIB device directly, without the instrument driver. Using this as a base, you can produce your own VI('s) that can control your DMM. Also, check out our knowledgebase if you have specific quesitons at www.ni.com/support. There is a lot of information on generally getting GPIB up and running at www.ni.com/support/gpib as well.
