Thanks Mark,

It did make a difference by using 61/2 digit resolution. The measurement does vary by thye last digit only, but centainly I feel this is not a good way of filtering the noice. Is there any right solution for this problem. And I am also not sure weather this will work with my 4060.

Also there was a filter tick option in the front panel, but there is no such function in my current device library(DMM V2.1). Is there anything particularly useful in the higher versions that can help solving the noice problems in the right way.
