Calibration Executive 3.3.1 - Error -300026 occurred

We have Calibration Executive Ver.3.3.1 software to calibrate our NI instruments. We are trying to calibrate the PXI-4130 when the following error occured:

Error -300026 occurred at cex_Instr_IVI_Dmm_Set_Input_Impedance.vi

Possible reason(s):

Calibration Executive: Unsupported instrument. The instrument is not supported by the requested function or the IVI driver. Ensure that the instrument you are using is supported by the calibration procedure.

Complete call chain:
     cex_Instr_IVI_Dmm_Set_Input_Impedance.vi
     cex_Instr_DMM_Set_Input_Impedance.vi
     Verify_NI 4130_Voltage Configure Std.vi
     Verify_NI 4130_Voltage Prog Accuracy.vi

The problem still persists even we have done the following:

(1) Updated the DMM driver (NI-DMM 3.0.1)

(2) Updated to the latest NI Device Drivers 2010.02 for Windows XP

(3) Replaced our HP 3458A for another HP 3458A instrument.

(4) Used another embedded controller (NI PXI-8110) to run the Cal. Exec. software. (Previously we are using our desktop)

Can anyone help me about this problem?

Hello Andrada,

The recommended DMM for the 4130 calibration is the NI-4071.  If you aren't using this, you need to confirm that you meet the following accuracy specifications on your instruments:

  • Voltage: <±50 ppm accuracy, <±30 µV resolution
  • Current: <±0.04% accuracy, ≤ 15µA resolution

If you would like to use the HP 3458A, make sure it meets the above requirements and you should be able to select it as the DMM for the procedure as shown below:

Please confirm that this is what you are doing when setting up the test.  I believe you may be getting these errors because you have selected the wrong DMM in the setup stages.  Can you confirm you have done the above correctly?

Regards,

Paul C.

Thanks Paul for the reply regarding our problem.

With regards to your enquiry about the DMM, I did selected the correct standard DMM (HP 3458A). I even scan the standards connected to the GPIB Interface using the MAX (version 4.6.2) for the primary Address. There is also a problem when we used HP 34401A. Hope this will clarify my question.

Anyway, we have a loaner for a NI PXI-4071. We used it instead of Agilent 3458A or Agilent 34401A. The calibration went thru without any problem when we used the NI PXI-4071.

Is there a problem in the software program why it is not possible to use other DMM besides the NI PXI-4071?

We've seen some of these strange errors with HP/Agilent DMMs. As a result, the 4071 is the only supported DMM in automated mode. The Cal Exec help actually states this in the procedure for the 4130.

It wouldn't hyperlink using Chrome -- http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/C869EEB50E70203C862575F30053D0F0

I have a question for this old subject, Can you use a 4070 in place of the 4071?

According to the documentation, the 4071 is the only DMM that will work.
