non-isolated power?

I have two simple question in PCI-6527. Because of my poor electricity knowledge, I need some help.
1. PCI-6527 use what kind of chip :it use 8255pp, E series or 653x, I can not find it in labview
measurement manual. If I want to see some example for application of PCI-6527. Where directory should I look for/

2. What is the difference between non-isolated power and isolated power? In which case, I should use non-isolated power or isolated power.

Thanks

Hello;

The PCI-6527 board uses an internal FPGA digital circuitry to generate the digital I/O lines. It's not the 8255 chip. What the product manual means by isolated power is that the digital lines are opto decoupled, meaning the grounds will be completely isolated one from the other.
You can find examples for that board at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Labview 6\examples\daq\652x.
Hope this helps.
