How long does it take for the card to respond to commands and retrieve data?

There are two paths that your data has to travel to go from the physical world to your PC. First from the physical world to the onboard memory, and then from the onboard memory to your PC memory. The travel speed from the physical world to the onboard memory is determined by the sampling rate of the card. The travel speed from the onboard memory to your PC is determined by your bus bandwidht and operating system.
The travel speed of commands sent to your board from your PC is determined by your bus bandwidth and OS as well.
