Replace USB NI-6525 and NI-6008 with modules on C DAQ-9188

I have two pieces of USB NI-6525 and 1 piece of USB NI-6008 and I would like to replace them at my system with modules on my C DaQ-9188.

This will help me to skip using USB and use instead Ethernet.

I would like to mention that I have already C DaQ-9188 and its in use. It has 4 empty slots.

Iam asking about modules that may replace NI-6525 & NI-6008 and can be on  C DaQ-9188

You'll need to provide more details about your signals and your timing requirements.  It isn't nearly enough to know *which* devices you were using, we would need to know a lot more about exactly *how* you're using them.

That said, I personally won't be much further help as I have very limited cDAQ knowledge.

CAUTION! New LabVIEW adopters -- it's too late for me, but you *can* save yourself. The new subscription policy for LabVIEW puts NI's hand in your wallet for the rest of your working life. Are you sure you're *that* dedicated to LabVIEW? (Summary of my reasons in this post, part of a voluminous thread of mostly complaints starting here).

Going just by the feature set of each of the instruments, we could suggest some equivalent cDAQ modules but if you define your requirements, we would be able to suggest the right one,

USB-6525

  • 8 DO-SSR 60V
  • 8 DI 60V compatible

USB-6008

  • 8 Ch AI 12-bit 10kS/s (8 SE or 4 Diff) ±10 V with respect to GND
  • 2 ch AO 12-bit 150Hz
  • DIO Open collector
  • 12 DIO
  • 32-bit counter

One option, purely based on the features described above

  • NI-9263 +/-10 V, 16-Bit, 100 kS/s/ch, 4-Ch AO Module
  • NI 9201 +/-10 V, 12-Bit, 500 kS/s, 8-Ch AI Module
  • NI 9485 8-Ch, ±60 VDC, 750 mA SSR C Series Module
  • NI 9375 16-ch DI, 16-ch DO, DI/DO C Series Module

Thank you for your answer.

Totally from all modules, I need the following:

Relay output "SSR" = 14

Digital Input = 10

Digital I/O = 6

Analog Output = 1

Analog Input = 3

My suggestion is to use the following (i will face a problem with the number of slots):

NI 9485 8-Ch, ±60 VDC, 750 mA SSR C Series Module  (x 2)

NI 9375 16-ch DI, 16-ch DO, DI/DO C Series Module

NI 9227: 4 AI channels, a 24-bit.

NI 9265: 4 AO Channel, 16-Bit , 100 kS/s

Do you agree? do you have a better suggestion?

Now you're talking business!

Relay output "SSR" = 14

Anything to consider for DIO? like input/output voltage, sampling rate etc.,

Digital Input = 10

Digital I/O = 6

Anything to consider for AO/AI? Voltage ranges? Resolution? Sampling rate?

Analog Output = 1

Analog Input = 3

Since you have limited slots, you've to be very specific about requirements.

One alternative is using a multi-functional module,
NI 9381 8 AI, 8 AO, 4 DIO, 0 V to 5 V -  drawback is the voltage capabilities are limited

  • 12-bit SE AI 20kS/s 0-5V
  • 12-bit SE AO 20kS/s 0-5V
  • 4 DIO - LVTTL

BTW, you can try select the modules at this link https://ohm.ni.com/advisors/compactdaq/pages/common/intro.xhtml
