PXI-6289 Hardware question

Hi,

The PXI-6289 module includes two connectors, left and right.

I need only 8 I/O for my circuit design. So, can we use/connect only one connector?
I have heard that we have to connect both in order to function.  I double about it.

Please advise!

Thanks

It should be fine to use just 1 connector.  I'd recommend connector 0 because the pinouts on connector 0 tend to be compatible with many other NI multifunction devices.  It'll have the signals that almost *all* multifunction devices support.  Connector 1 is where the device-specific signals are found.

CAUTION! New LabVIEW adopters -- it's too late for me, but you *can* save yourself. The new subscription policy for LabVIEW puts NI's hand in your wallet for the rest of your working life. Are you sure you're *that* dedicated to LabVIEW? (Summary of my reasons in this post, part of a voluminous thread of mostly complaints starting here).
