NI PCI 6289: What does "10MHz clocked signal" mean?

Hi,

Perhaps, this is a basic question, but I am trying to understand the specs of this DIO board (NI PCI-6289). The spec. sheet says

DO Sample Clock frequency
PCI/PXI devices
Regenerate from FIFO........... 0 to 10 MHz
Streaming from memory........ 0 to 10 MHz
system dependent2

My application needs a DIO read of 32 channels every 20 micro seconds (or better). I am able to achieve about 40 micro seconds. So, how would I interpret this, if I want to know the speed of availability of the signal.

Thanks.

Hey none12,

Since the NI PCI-6289 has Correlated DIO on 32 channels, at up to 10MHz, then you could acquire a signal every 0.1 micro-seconds at the cards max rate. However, this performance is also dependent on bus latency and the volume of bus activity. Hope this helps!
