NI 9476 output module watchdog

Solved!
Go to solution

I am using one output from the NI9476 module to give me a watchdog signal. Therefore it turns on and off every second. How long should i expect the output to last?

This isnt a problem if its a transistor rather than relay, but i cant find any reference to what type of outputs they are on the above module.

Hi,

Where is the relay ?? Smiley Surprised ??

As far as I know the NI9476 has solid state outputs. So you should ask NI for the reliability figures.

But I think you computer will die before the output module does.

And normally a relay would last at least 1.000.000 switch actions or more. Within weeks the relay is worn out.

Hi Kingo

Sorry for the late reply but I had to get this information from R&D. I can tell you that the NI 9467 has solid state switching in the form of transistors and no relays are used in it's manufacture.

Many Thanks
