Is is possible to generate a software(OS) based clock signal on a PXI-6508?

We don't have the budget to purchase a 6533, so we are looking for a way to generate a clock signal on a static I/O digital card. We don't need a lot of precision, but wondering what the highest freqency could be achieved...

Thanks

Hello,

The specs on that card has the maximum output sustainable output as 1-10K Words a second. A word is 8 lines on that board. So, it looks like the fastest you will be able to output a board for a single channel will be 125 to 1250 bits a second. So, that board should work out for you if you need a real slow clock.
You may want to look into a counter timer module, it costs a little bit less then a 6533.
