How will the fifth (GND) pin in RS422 be connected in USB 2.0 for making a convertor?

Hi all,

I am looking for a solution to my doubt. The doubt is

What kind of Discrete IO (continuous High or Continuous Low or programmed DIO) may have been used in an equipment which is used just to confirm that the ^Ground Support Equipment (GSE)^ is connected before transferring data on RS422 bus. This DISCRETE is connected with GSE to ensure the data downloading device is connected.

Your image does not make any sense. There are no other lines on usb besides the first four.

How is your question related to NI's digital I/O devices or software?
