How do you go about generating a non-repetitive digital pattern with S/W on a PXI-6508?

I understand that the 6508 does not have a clock and is used with static I/O, but is there a way to generate a digital pattern using a software generated clock to sync a non-repetitive signal?

I've worked with DIOeasy before, so I was looking for something like a pattern file which is read in and interpreted depending on the clock frequency...

Can anyone help?

Have you looked at the "Write to Digital Port(8255).vi that comes with LabVIEW examples? You will have to modify the example, but basically it should do what you are describing. If you need hardware controlled pattern transfer, you should consider the 653x devices.
