How can I configure port "C" (or #2) as high nibble input low nibble output on DIO 96

You can not configure a port on DIO96 as two nibble ports. In one port you must have all bits configured for inputs or for outputs. If you need to have 4 bits as inputs and 4 bits as outputs you must use two 8-bit ports.

NI-DAQ will generate an error when trying to configure port C as two 4-bit ports. NI-DAQ does not support this function, but register-level programming can access this feature;
