Can you order components at Farnell ? They have the diode you want.
Another option is the SB3H90 from VISHAY (90V - 3A)

We're using the USB-6501 (works with USB-6008 too) directly connected to the Solid State Relay.
Pin 2 (+5v) and pin 16 (port 2.0) is connected to the relay directly. Internally pin 16 is connected to pin 2 through 4.7k resistor.
When you power up the module the relay is inactive (both pin 2 and 16 actually going to the same +5V on the USB module).
Later the software creates a digital out channel and when you activate it pin 16 is sent to GND (ground) and the relay gets the required power.
