Controlling a bipolar stepper motor with myrio

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi, I'm trying to control a bipolar stepper motor with myrio. I'm getting familiar with the PMW and Digital out express VIs for the moment as they seem to do what I'm looking for. What I want is to control my motor manually so that I feed in the steps that I desire along with the direction that I want.I'm not sure what kind of structure will be suitable here and whether these VIs are the best solution here.

This is the first time I'm using myrio so if you can even just point me on the right track I will be thankful.

PS: I'm using a TB6560 driver for my motor(Nema 23)

Regards

A.

Hi A

I found a video which may help you using the myRIO with a stepper motor:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCqFck0CLpc

Also the below link should explain how to set up speed and direction:

http://forums.ni.com/t5/Academic-Hardware-Products-ELVIS/Stepper-position-control-with-myRIO/td-p/29...

Hopefully this should give you enough information to get started.

Regards,

Nathan
