Comparing USB-6351 to USB-6215

Solved!
Go to solution

I have an requirement described in the attached file. And I want build it up with an USB-6215 instead of an USB-6351.

My question is, can I fulfill all the requirements also with an USB-6215 - specially the HW Timed DIO?

Requirements are:

1x analog input (AI)

2x HW-timed analog outputs (AO)

3x HW-timed digital input/outputs (DIOs)

1x counter

1x Programmable Function Interface (PFI) pin to use the counter output as the clock source

Yes you can use this USB 6215 as its HW timing exceed 10 MHZ up to 100 MHZ

By my reading of the spec sheet, NO.

The USB-6215 does not support hardware-timed DIO.  Nor do any of the other USB-621x (M-series) devices, to the best of my knowledge.

If USB is a requirement, you probably need to stick with the USB-63xx (X-series) family of devices.

As Kevin indicated, USB-6215 does not support HW timed digital IO
