Checking if NI-6509 working on my RHEL WS 4.6

Solved!
Go to solution

I installed NIDAQmx 8.0 on my Red Hat Enterprise WS 4.6 machine.  The driver installation seemed successful.

Using the nilsdev command, the following is listed:

NI PCI-6509: "Dev1"
Serial number: 0x13E94F3
Bus Type: PCI
PCI Bus: 0x4
PCI Device: 0x2
IRQ level: 0xC9
Memory Range: 0xDFAFD000-0xDFAFDFFF
Memory Range: 0xDFAFE000-0xDFAFFFFF

How do I ensure that the PCI-6509 card is working properly with my RHEL WS 4.6?

Thanks,

Wayne

Hi Wayne,

Welcome to the NI forums!  The easiest way to verify that your device is working properly is to use a Test Panel.  The following KnowledgeBase has instructions for how to open a Test panel in Linux: Test panels for DAQmx in Linux

From the test panel you will be able to read from/write to the digital lines of the 6509 to make sure that the device is working properly.  Thanks for posting and have a great day!

hi John,

It seems that a link in Test panels for DAQmx in Linux is broken. I have also the same problem as mentioned previously for 6509 board. How can I opened a Test Panel on Linux by the way.

thanks,

Dexter
