Building a Distribution for a Licensed VI Library


Introduction

Once you have created and licensed your LabVIEW library, it is time to deploy the add-on . Our recommended method is to use VI Package Manager to distribute LabVIEW Add-ons. However, you can still use an Application Builder  Install Build Specification or own  installer process to achieve this, as long as you install the correct  files to the correct locations, as described by this tutorial.

Why use VI Package Manager

VI Package Manager (VIPM) is the preferred method for distributing LabVIEW add-ons and serves as an Add-on Manager for LabVIEW. The community version of VIPM is free. In addition to its ease of use for creating a distribution, it has several benefits over other methods:
