Using the "timed out?" returned by Request and Wait for Reply

How could we incorporate the lonely "timed out?" Boolean into the error cluster in the template for Request and Wait for Reply. We use this call in TestStand steps and need TestStand to report timeouts as it does other errors - it conveniently monitors and reports errors from the error out cluster in the call. We have so many of these calls.

Hi GeoffA,

DQMH 5.0 has fixed that. It is in Beta now, we are working on finishing up the documentation so we can release it. We did it to address one of the feature requests here:

https://forums.ni.com/t5/Delacor-Toolkits-Documents/DQMH-Feature-Requests/tac-p/3899954/highlight/tr...

If you would like to get access to the Beta, let me know and I will send you instructions via a direct message.

In the meantime, this is what our solution looks like:

Thank you, Fabiola, for the update. It looks like it will address the issue nicely. If you think version 5 will be out within a month's time, we could wait. Otherwise, it would be useful to have a Beta version (and provide you with feedback, if needed).

Regards,

Geoff.

We are working on making a Beta release public, that should happen by the end of this week.

The release via Tools Network will take longer because we need to add some documentation and update some videos. We have been using the beta version for the last couple of months and it is pretty stable. We are also using it for customer's projects.

I will come back with a link for you later tomorrow.

Thanks,

Fab

We made the DQMH 5.0 Beta available publicly via our website at http://delacor.com/announcing-dqmh-5-0-beta/

The best way to find out all the new stuff is by validating an existing module, it will guide you through all the changes.
The major change is that we improved how the modules are launched and stopped. This means there are no longer restrictions to only run cloneable in Real-Time. We made it so you can validate all the modules in a project at once and without having a project open. Of course, as mentioned earlier, the Request and Wait for Reply returns an error if it times out. There are other changes but those are the biggest ones.

Let us know what you think.

Happy wiring,
Fab
