Solved!

Hi,

NXG has a nice feature like Zoom In, Zoom Out.

Any plan to adapt DQMH to NXG?

Thanks,

Sergiy

Hi Sergiy,

We believe that one of the reasons LabVIEW developers like DQMH is for its productivity tools (Add DQMH Module, Create DQMH Event, Rename DQMH Module, Rename DQMH Event, etc). We will consider making DQMH available in NXG when LabVIEW Scripting is available.

[Edit] We are hoping that code generated with DQMH will be able to migrate to NXG starting in 2.0. The tools that generate the code are the ones that will have to wait until LabVIEW Scripting is available.

Regards,

Fab

Is it technically true to say that the scripting done by the DQMH productivity tools could be done in NXG 3.1 using C#?

Yes, but currently, we have no plans on investing in C# developers. We are G experts and prefer to use our time and invest our "free tools time" on G code.

If a customer were to pay for the C# development, we may change our mind 😉

Yes, of course!

I remember when scripting came out of the shadow some NI folks were saying that it made LabVIEW a "general purpose language" that we could call "G".

Someone why a playful mind would ask : Can G qualify as a "general purpose language" if you have to use C# to generate G code?

And by the way, I wonder who put the cash on the table to write the UML Editor for NXG in C#...

Does anyone know? is it public information? Did NI participate in paying for it?
