Using Access databases together with DIAdem as a simple way to add ODBC / SQL functionality to your applications (e.g. for parameter management) you will soon realise that under DIAdem 64 bit access to Office 32 bit databases doesn't work.
From https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54920 you can download Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 Redistributable which should solve this problem. But when trying to install you will get the message "You cannot install the 64-bit version ... you first need to remove the 32-bit installation of Office products ...".
As removing your entire Office installation just to enable DIAdem's access to databases is not a reasonable approach (or not even an option in a corporate IT environment) there must be an easier way and here it is:
Execute the downloaded file from command line with parameter /quiet: accessdatabaseengine_x64.exe /quiet.
Then 64-bit database access works together with 32-bit Office installation (tested under Windows 10 64 bit with DIAdem 2017 64 bit and Office 2010 32 bit).
